The Mystery.

Quite honestly I’m not exactly sure what to write, but here goes…

Do you ever feel like you’re running in circles sometimes? Well I think sometimes my mind feels that way… It’s sort of a natural thing for me. I mean just being in college, I feel like there’s an answer to everything and sometimes the answers aren’t always so clear. But I do know one answer that makes perfect sense: Jesus.

“He is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” –Psalm 62:2

I was thinking about the concept of knowing everything and how as humans we tend to think this way. Human beings can be filled with so much knowledge, but yet we fail to realize the importance of the mystery.

What is that mystery? We can know of something, but fail to know something. And I mean this in a spiritual sense. The mystery of God is good to know of, but to actually grasp it inwardly is something beyond knowledge alone. Knowing Jesus is so life changing. He has come not just to give life, but to give life more abundantly.

John 10:10 “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

I know at times things can seem difficult, but leaning on Jesus makes all the difference. He has that perfect peace that can help us through anything. When I feel like things are crazy, which I often do, just thinking about Christ and all that He’s done is just… I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s something else. He’s come to give life more abundantly.

I’ve been hearing a lot lately that His gift of salvation is free to have, but yet people reject this.

He is the answer and truth.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

To New Beginnings...

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer ; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust ; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. –Psalm 18:2

Somewhere out there someone is going through something… a loss, healing, a new hope, a new understanding, a realization, trusting, gaining more of the Lord, losing oneself, a new sense of what life is, and so much more. We go through so many trials, some more than others. Some will either gain more or lose more… Or in actually, lose more to gain more. In our eyes it all seems hopeless and complicated sometimes. I realized the world grows weary as I get older. But I’m excited for that new hope, which is Christ! He is everything and a lot of people fail to see this, to actually see what He is and to gain Him more is to put ourselves where He would be… to step back from oneself and TRUST in Him. He is my Rock and He is my salvation. And His love only continues to grow.

If you are reading this and you know what I mean then Praise the Lord!

I couldn’t even begin to explain it, but He is everything!

The beauty in it is that the Lord never leaves us- through it all, He is there. And sometimes it’s just about surrender and that is to give up. This is not a bad thing at all, but rather it lets the Lord come in and set us free. The peace He gives surpasses everything.

Anyways it’s been crazy summer and I’m sorry I haven’t got to write in this Blog for a while… There have definitely been times when I felt like nothing made sense and there were some things the Lord would reveal to me, but it was all in His perfect timing. I’m definitely nowhere near perfect, but that’s okay because there’s always a new beginning everyday with the Lord. Again, I’m not exactly sure how to explain this, but it sure is amazing.

Going back to this verse:

Nothing is too big for the Lord. In times past I did forget that and it’s so easy to, but if everything was so easy, it wouldn’t be worth it and I learned this from a really good friend of mine. Nothing is too hard for God, we just have to have faith.

It has been a long time. Sorry about that… a lot has happened in the past couple of months.

The Lord has been so good to me.

Something I’ve learned lately is that it’s okay not to have it all figured out. Who does anyways? Sometimes we have plans, stick to them, and a lot of the time they don’t follow through and end up changing. In my case, it is better to not plan. I realized my ambitions, dreams, etc. especially toward the beginning of college, have gone out the window. My plans definitely changed. I mean I am no longer the same person I was a year ago… or even a couple of months ago. I was pondering something today… about God’s will and what exactly that entails. I think sometimes people can get confused on this. What is His will for each person? Sometimes people think it’s some giant thing they need to do for God and maybe it’s not that. Maybe that small faithful thing you are doing is His will and to continue to do that. Who knows, only the Lord. But if you are truly seeking Him wholeheartedly, He will show you sooner than you think. Maybe you are already doing it and not knowing. It’s simpler than we think a lot of the time.

These verses are awesome:

-1 Thessalonians 5: 16-24

“Rejoice evermore. Pray without Ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.”

You know I can admit at times things got difficult. But the Lord is always with us through anything we go through good or bad. Praise Him regardless, no mater what situation. He knows how to get us through anything. I’ve also realized how much I need God and continually do.

So, if you are ever discourage in your Christian walk, keep going on! We have to go through sufferings but that does not mean we go through them alone.

“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us.” - 2 Timothy 2:12

This semester has been hard but you know I can start over. The Lord accepts you no matter what state you’re in. You just have to come to Him.

Desires.

We all want to be something, someone, or even want to be a part of something greater. Who needs it? Sometimes we think about that one desire and see it as what’s best for us but in reality it’s not. I think about the person I’ve become and realistically I wanted to be that “something great.” But now, I really don’t care. And I’m not trying to sound pessimistic at all. You see when you get just a little taste of who Christ is, everything changes. It is that relationship with Him that changes everything.

2 Corinthians 5: 17- Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

This is something you can’t explain but something you have to experience yourself to know… to know that everything will be okay, that God is in control always, and to know that you don’t have to try to be anything because He is everything! And can honestly say my desires have changed and are continually changing.

Romans 12:2-3 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

I’ll leave you with this… He is life changing! We just have to surrender to Him and He’ll take care of the rest. It’s not always easy but it’s so worth it!

Hello everyone!

Sorry it has been quite a while since I have posted anything. Here goes… I wanted to talk about the concept of faith. Faith is something a lot of people think they know what it pertains to but in actuality do not grasp the concept of it and use it so lightly. What is your definition of faith? In Hebrews 11:1 it says, “Now FAITH is the substance of all things hope for, the evidence of things not seen.” 11:3- “Through faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” How do we have this faith? Through HIM. 2 Timothy 2:13- “If we believe not, yet HE abideth FAITHFUL; he cannot deny himself. “How amazing is that? The Lord is faithful! I remember not knowing this before but when I discovered it through His word it clicked. How can we really know what faith is if we do not go through things that test our faith? We go through trials and rough patches each and every day, some more than others. But what do we do through that? Do we remain in faith or fall apart? And if we fall apart do we get back up or just stay down? Faith is something powerful and increases through Christ! We need to rely on HIM and his faith! Thinking about it now, there were a lot of times where my own faith was weak. But He is strong and was able to get me through it. Praise the Lord for His continual faithfulness in me. He never gave up on me and it has brought me further each day. Sometimes when we have those “bad” days, it is easy to not have faith or think about it. But that is when we need to rely on Him the most. We are nothing, He is everything.

1 Timothy 6:11-12 “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

Sometimes it is very hard for me to focus on one thing. My mind runs a million miles per hour, especially at night. We are humans made to think, about such things- as we wish. It is very difficult to not think at all, lots of people do this easily, but I am not one of them. I often tend to think about the past alot: the person I’ve become, the things I saw, the people I hung out with, and the many phases of life. Life can be carried so easily with these thoughts. Alot of the time we can lose ourselves in these thoughts. I like the Godly thoughts, these are the thoughts that are worth dwelling on and that give you more than the average thought. The past is the past, there is no changing what is already done. But today, we can look towards Christ! TODAY, think of Him and what He has already done in your life and what he will begin to do. Think about your blessings. I’ll tell you a secret- well, I planned on doing a 365 day challenge which involved me writing down one thing I was thankful for everyday. But I can honestly and unfortunately say, this did not work out the way I wanted it too. But who’s to say I can start another 365 day challenge? There is so MUCH to be thankful for. Simply just BREATHING, praise the Lord we are able to do even that! So, food for thought, what are you thinking? What will you be thinking of? Put your minds toward Christ, believe me it’s something you won’t regret.

The Next Step or Steps

In my life there have been so many steps, from the time I first took a step, in which I obviously would not remember, until the steps I took toward God. Hallelujah. I never knew Christ when I was little. It took long drawn steps to get to where I am now and He has definitely walked those steps with me. Walking is something taken for granted. Some people are not able to share the simple things of walking or even running. It something we do not think about too often because we are able to do such things. I have always enjoyed running, but what if that was taken away from me? I could not even imagine. Praise the Lord for the little things. Anyways, back to these steps. Imagine Christ’s steps, where he walked, journeyed, and the magnificent things he did with where he was. I just thank God that He was always with me through this journey that I am on. Most people think about what their goal or dream to do in life is, and most of the time they think it needs to be something huge, but it does not. Life is about taking that step or steps one at a time. I’d realized my dreams did not match up to what God for me. He wants me to be transformed like His Son. I need Christ. This may not sound like something phenomenal to some Christians, but it should. A lot of Christians have this concept of Christianity wrong. I use to as well. But praise the Lord I dropped all those concepts and just let Him take over completely! To be a Christian is to be “Christ like,” and people use this term loosely. So many Christians I have seen do not hold this truth. I by no means am perfect, no one is but Christ Himself, but we need to strive to be more like Him, through our everyday life. Our lives should show Christ; there does not have to be some giant sign on our forehead that says “Hey, I’m a Christian, look at me!” People should see that we are Christ like by the way we manifest ourselves. I took me awhile to see “this step” i had to take. I was so blinded by this world and the things of it. But when I finally could see that I did not want to be part of worldly things anymore, everything became so clear. God always shows you what you want to see or not want to see, if you ask Him, and if you do not see it is because you are blinding yourself. Take those first steps again, this time towards Him, you will not regret it.

Mathew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
